Complying with standards

We aim to comply with the Web Accessibility Initiative’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WAI/WCG).

We’ve built all pages on this site to Hyper Text Mark-up Language XHTML 1.0 Transitional.

Wherever possible, we’ve written links so they make sense even out of context. This means screen readers can extract a comprehensive list of links on a page.

To us, accessibility covers not only people with disabilities, but also those who want to do business through the internet but have limited computing facilities or skills. In particular, we try to provide enough information for you to decide when to download (as we know people using dial-up facilities don’t want a phone line tied up for hours, nor do those using Blackberries and other devices always want to download).

If you experience any difficulties

Maintaining an accessible site is an ongoing process, and we’re continually working at it. If you have any problems please contact us so we can try to resolve them. If possible, include the web address of the relevant page(s).
